The “Israel – Albania Culture Festival” is a yearly festival of arts and culture presenting and promoting contemporary creativity and cultural heritage from Israel and Albania, and at large from Albanian and Jewish diasporas worldwide. The forthcoming 2022 edition of the Festival will bring together in Tirana artists, authors and cultural operators from Israel, Albania and the international scene in a program of events and performances spanning instrumental classical and jazz music, traditional folk music from Albania and Israel, classical ballet, contemporary dance, art innovation, chess n’ jazz, visual arts, mural arts, literature, culinary arts, and cinematography.
The “Israel – Albania Culture Festival” brings artistic excellence and innovative multi-disciplinary projects in Albania and the larger Balkans region. By supporting international collaborative projects in the field of arts and culture, the Festival aims also at promoting Albanian and Jewish cultural heritage and contemporary creativity in the larger European and international contexts. In this connect, the rescue of Jewish people in Albania during the Holocaust is valued as a precious heritage of outstanding relevance for nurturing inter-generational and inter-cultural dialogue vis-a-vis pressing challenges of racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and all forms of intolerance.
